 What is Keloid?

 

Keloid is an overgrowth of scar tissue that develops around a wound. Keloid usually grows beyond the borders of the original wound whereas in a hypertrophic scar the tissue stays within the wound border.

It can form after skin injuries from vaccination sits, acne spots, surgical wounds.

 

 

  Treatment

  - Injection into the tissue : 10 injections for every 2~4 weeks

 

 
- Surgical removal (incision + suture + radiation )
  Surgery removal can result in an bigger scar.
  Using as few stiches (sutures) as possible when closing the wound
  radiation treatment for 3-5 days after surgery.
